About Georgia Southern University

Georgia Southern University, a member institution of the University System of Georgia is a residential campus with an enrollment of over 17,000. The 675-acre park-like campus continues an era of capital construction that has opened new facilities for colleges and academic programs, student recreation and development, University housing, athletics, and public service. The learning environment is enhanced by a museum of cultural and natural history, a botanical garden, a unique wildlife education center, an 850-seat performing arts theatre, and a new continuing education and conference center. The University's Division I athletic teams compete in the Southern Conference.

About Statesboro, Georgia

Statesboro, a safe, hospitable Main Street Community of 40,000 is located an hour from historic savannah and beach resorts and approximately 200 miles from Atlanta. A newcomer to Statesboro would immediately notice the distinct flavor of a "university town" - the inviting gateway to Georgia Southern University, ablaze with azaleas each spring, greets motorists at the southern edge of the city. But even more striking are the signs of a vibrant, economically healthy community that spring up shortly after one turns off Interstate 16 and heads north on U.S. 301.
