Graduate Research Symposium

March 13th & 14th

Symposium hmPg.png

The Annual Research Symposium is an opportunity to showcase student research at Georgia Southern. This year the Symposium has been extended to include two days in which poster presentation and plenary sessions by graduate students from all academic disciplines will be held. Online students who wish to participate may submit video presentations of their research. All graduate students involved in research are encouraged to apply and participate.
Undergraduate research will also be on display this year from winners of campus undergrad symposia and selected research demonstrations. Faculty, students, academic organization and clubs are invited to participate and attend.

Those students not yet engaged in research, will discover that attending the Symposium is a great way to learn about the broad research opportunities at Georgia Southern University.

APPLY NOW! The deadline for submission is February 22, 2013

Any one interested in participating should apply.

There will be cash prizes for the first, second, and third place graduate student winners from each College. Each first place winner will be awarded a certificate and a $300 cash prize. Each second place winner will receive a certificate and a $200 cash prize. Each third place winner will receive a certificate and a $100 cash prize. There will also be a prize of $200 given for excellence in undergraduate research.

SUBMISSIONS ARE NOW CLOSED The deadline for submission was February 22, 2013

The College of Graduate Studies will be working with individuals and their colleges to accommodate students that give oral presentations, demonstrations, or performances. Top submissions will be contacted about the opportunity to give a plenary session. Please indicate on the submission form the type of presentation (poster, oral, performance or demonstration) you’d like give and if accepted to present, you will be contacted regarding scheduling by March 4th. If you are giving a demonstration we will provide a table and access to power and wifi.

Please contact Marla Bruner at mbruner@georgiasouthern.edu with any questions you may have.
