James Delvin
Office of Student Activities

The Office of Student Activities works to enhance campus life and connect students with diverse involvement opportunities beyond the classroom. As a GA, James Delvin supports and enhances the work within the department through peer leadership and student development. He works attentively with students aspiring to start new organizations on campus. James hosts the bi-monthly, hour long, New Student Organization Chartering Workshop, which is a presentation that informs students about the program’s approval process, benefits, and rules. He also hosts face-to-face consultations with students and assists with the Student Organization & Leadership Development (SOLD) Workshop Series. The SOLD Workshop Series helps develop student’s leadership capabilities for those aspiring or currently holding leadership positions. The students enjoy the face-to-face interaction and James find value in putting a face to a name. In addition to his other tasks, James writes the department’s monthly newsletter that is distributed to organization advisors and low risk organizations. James enjoys his position, and he enjoys his master’s program. “Working in Higher Education focuses on students, their needs, and how I can benefit them.”
