Greetings from the Jack N. Averitt College of Graduate Studies, and welcome to Georgia Southern University! We want to extend a warm Georgia Southern welcome to you as you embark on your graduate career.
Georgia Southern is a Carnegie doctoral / institution and member of the University System of Georgia. We offer a wide range of doctoral, master’s, specialist, and professional degree programs, as well as certificate programs.
The pursuit of graduate education is unlike any other experience. It is a time to take advantage of everything that your University has to offer and to challenge yourself. It is a time of exploration and immersion in particular discipline, a time for the free exchange of ideas, acquisition of new proficiencies, and creation and dissemination of new knowledge. This is a time when professors move from being your teachers and instructors to being your mentors, colleagues and life-long associates.
We wish you every opportunity for success in pursuit of your advanced degree and hope to meet your personally in the near future.
Dr. Ashley Walker
